Despite her young age, Katie has already faced many challenges in life. She was raised in a small town in the Midwest by her single mother, who struggled to make ends meet. As a result, Katie had to work hard to herself and help her mother.

The show explores Katie's struggles to achieve her dream of becoming a professional dancer, while dealing with the pressures of high school and relationships. In the beginning, Katie is just a small-town girl with a big dream, but as the series progresses, she faces more and more obstacles that test her resolve.
