Feeling ashamed of his actions, Buck retreated to his mansion in Long Island, where he decided to start anew and turn his life around.

During a party at his house, Buck met beautiful socialite Claire, played by Alice Day, and they immediately fell in love. Claire was different from the other women in Buck's life - she was smart, sensible and grounded. She knew how to enjoy life, but also had a sense of responsibility and a desire to make the world a better place. Buck was captivated by Claire's beauty, intelligence and kindness, and vowed to win her heart.
