Watch The Kite

This French romantic drama film premiered in 2003. The movie is set in the Israeli and Lebanese border. It follows the story of Lamia, a 16 year old Lebanese girl who is arranged to marry her cousin Sammy who lives on the Israeli border. The two families of the bride and groom cannot openly communicate and see each other because of the heavily patrolled border between Israel and Lebanon. However, Lamia is in love with an Isreali soldier who is stationed at the border. The marriage between the two cousins is doomed. Both Lamia and Youussef the soldier wonder if they ever will be together and at what cost will their love come.
