Hot Pursuit is a comedy film that follows a police officer, Cooper, as she tries to protect a federal witness, Daniella, the widow of a drug lord. While retrieving Daniella, the facility is attacked, leading Cooper to take her into protective custody. They flee, with the goal of getting Daniella to Dallas to testify. Along the way, Cooper discovers that some of the other police officers charged with Daniella's care are on the other side of the law, forcing them both the run, becoming fugitives in the process. They must learn to work together if they expect to survive.
